Weekends

Saturday and Sunday follow a loose routine. It rarely changes much.

Early: Chapultepec

He is out the door before seven to work out in the Bosque de Chapultepec, usually laps of the dirt track at El Sope and then stretching under the trees. By the time the park fills up with families, he's done.

Midday: El Chopo

On Saturdays he walks the Tianguis Cultural del Chopo, the street market in Colonia Guerrero known for its music stalls. He goes through the record crates one by one and rarely leaves with more than two LPs. That's the rule he sets himself, anyway.

Evening: Liga MX

Match days decide the evening. If the fixture and the ticket price work out, he goes to the stadium. Otherwise it's a cantina near home with the game on the big screen and the sound turned up.

Sunday night

The week ends the same way most weeks: a record he bought the day before, played start to finish, with nothing else going on.
